All persons taking courses in the Training Program in Clinical Research must be nominated by the NIH Admissions Committee and formally admitted by the School of Medicine at Duke University. An advanced degree in a clinical health science (or two years of medical school) from an accredited institution is a prerequisite for admission, either as a degree candidate (Master of Health Sciences in Clinical Research) or as a non-degree student.

Applicants seeking admission either as a degree candidate or as a non-degree participant should submit the application form and provide the following supporting documents.

A current curriculum vitae (CV) must be included with the application form.

An official transcript from each post-secondary institution attended must be sent to the Training Program in Clinical Research directly by the institution. Personal copies are not acceptable.

Three letters are required. They should be written by persons, such as potential mentors, who are qualified to testify to your capacity for graduate work. Evaluation forms are provided; they should be mailed to the Training Program in Clinical Research directly by the evaluators.

Tuition for the 2002-2003 academic year is $480 per unit, with partial tuition waivers for some courses. Prospective participants should consult with their institute or center regarding the official training nomination procedure.

The deadline for receipt of applications is March 15th. Since enrollment is limited, late applications cannot be guaranteed consideration. All application material and correspondence concerning your application should be mailed to the
